Some random points arising out of others' comments:
1. As I understand it, the behaviour persisted for 14 months. That makes it more serious and certainly much worse than an off-the-cuff comment in the office or at a dinner party.
2. Some of the lady's comments amount to criminal offending. The CPS do not prosecute everyone they believe to have committed a criminal offence. They consider whether prosecution is in the public interest.
3. It is monstrous to suggest that all religions regard homosexuality as worthy of the death penalty. As one small example of how wrong that is, the Church of England accepts same-sex marriage.
