I was a member of the forces, became a policeman from the 80's to the noughties before heading to this side of the law.

Therefore - would it have been acceptable for me in my former positions to make those tweets? Any difference now since changing careers? Would it have been a waste of the taxpayers money to investigate and/or prosecute me? There are numerous other professions you could compare this with, but I am using my former ones.

As for the 'remorse' shown by Daniels.................... was is truly genuine, or was it the realisation that mitigation might by the best way to avoid something more 'heavy' landing her way?

Is a suspension of 18 months fair? Is is correct that Daniels be allowed to return to the legal profession? Would it have been fair to suspend a policeman or a member of our armed forces for 18 months? Should she have been struck off for the Roll permanently, should a policeman or member of our armed forces be sacked? Should we allow racists in the legal profession/police service/armed forces? Do their personal opinions truly effect their professional judgement?

So sad, that many people like me, perhaps even you, your ancestors had to serve and protect our nation so that people like Daniels can exercise what I gather was classed as free speech. She can do this without any fear being bundled into the back of a car never to be seen again.

I agree with the investigation, but not the punishment. I have left out what I think the punishment should have been. I might agree, I might think it was harsh, I might think it was too lenient.
