£300k for costs?

Let's say counsel whacked in a fee note of £50k, this leaves £250k costs.

At the penal rates claimed by the respondent this represents 625 hours chargeable time.

To me th issues in the case where, was the chargin structure such that it evinced a lack of integrity / dishonesty,

Surely all this required was a review of the bills (+ pods and replies) the DA and the qualifications etc of the fee earners.

How can this possibly take anything like 100 hours let alone 500?
