What difference should it make whether the firm is local to the claimant?

Solicitors have a right to be able to make an income from any stream of work they desire, and given the advances in technology in the sector, there really should be no argument over the geography of a claimant. Many Firms (mine included) will go and see a claimant face to face anywhere in the country where applicable, usually for higher value cases.

As long as a high level of service is being offered, that's all that matters.
