I remember the days of scale fees. I know it all depended on the scales being set at realistic levels but at the time they were. So, the punter knew what was payable and chose the firm on other factors - recommendation, location, reliability, speed of service, customer relations etc, etc. At the end of the day the poor firms would sink to the bottom of the pile by natural selection. No waste of time giving quotes and undercutting. We had no client care letters. I don't remember any complaints. Nobody died.

And while I am on this forum perhaps the Anons could stop being anon and stick their real name where there mouth is.
