I get very annoyed with lawyers who say cohabitees should get extra rights. Nonsense, if they want rights get married or enter a civil partnership. Take some responsibility for your actions and situation. The argument that people think they get common law rights has well and truly been de bunked in the media and there are thousands of web pages and blog posts, facebook posts etc on this subject, so ignorance is no longer an excuse.
