Well that's jolly nice of the good judge, but in what way is enjoining practitioners to "look after yourselves" and instructing them to "make the system more efficient and reduce your workload" anything but LiP service.

How much control over anything does he think your average legal aid practitioner has? Stuck between frustrated intemperate judges, catastrophically underfunded social services, impoverished and disenfranchised clients, and the money-men demanding their profit share : you might as well tell the poor devils on the Titanic to use tea cups as balers.
