The Government make a fortune out of conveyancing; then we have the websites; then the estate agents; then the conveyancer.
What would help greatly would be Land Registry and others mounting an information campaign about what conveyancing actually involves and why 6-8 weeks isn’t too long. “Delay” needs to be defined and explained and not confused with process.
If it takes 23 hours to fly London to Sydney then that’s how long it takes. To describe the time between arriving at London airport and walking out of Sydney airport as “delay” would be silly and wrong.
