Anonymous - 16 October 2018 14:14 - Spot on. It is not uncommon for me to be asked to certify a document as an original without seeing the original. I don't care how well I know you. I simply won't do it but sadly I know of at least one colleague that would.

The other issue is never cover up a mistake. If the mistake is a very serious one then yes you have good chance of being dismissed but being admitting what you have done straight away and saying sorry might mean you keep your job. Try and cover it up and you definitely will be dismissed.
