Ground rents exceeding £250 simply do not prevent enfranchisement as suggested by FS Legal.

Leaseholders can still purchase the freehold reversion on houses (Leasehold Reform Act 1967) or lease extensions on flats (Leasehold Reform, Housing & Urban Development Act 1993). Whilst different qualifying criteria will apply and each case is fact dependent, it is wrong of FS Legal to suggest rights are lost absolutely.

Leaseholders are perhaps better speaking to an ALEP accredited Solicitor/Surveyor on such topics.
