Could this be the possible decision in a future case?

"Ms X, you, a solicitor, were out in the town at night and were seen to slap a man in the face. For a member of the profession to assault someone in this way is to bring the profession into disrepute and you are therefore fined £2,500 and must pay the SRA its costs of £10,000. We know you argue that the man you slapped had just assaulted you, but the SRA did not think it necessary to explore the background to your actions and, besides, slapping someone cannot be condoned whatever the circumstances. You should have run off instead. Or, as a woman, and therefore more liable to be the target of abusive men, you should have realised that it would have been better for you to stay at home rather than venture out at night."
