The argument that Leavers ‘scurried away’ after the vote is tiresome and just wrong.

Gove, Johnson, Leadsom and Fox all stood for the leadership, Johnson pulling out only when Gove knifed him in the back.

Reese-Mogg continued to campaign from the back benches as he always had done. You can hardly criticise him for not standing himself: with no cabinet experience, he would not have been a credible candidate.

The one point in your favour is that Farage stood down as UKIP leader. However, given that he would have never been allowed anywhere near government to assist with the deal, I think it’s fair to say there was little more he could do anyway.
