Judgments very rarely mention the question of costs, which is a shame, as it would often be interesting to see the sums involved.

But in a case like this, where Mr Rudall seems to have comprehensively shot himself in both feet, he would almost certainly have been ordered to pay the costs, and with a 10 day trial involving 2 QC's I would imagine that the costs would be well into 6 figures, if not 7.
