I wouldn't prohibit any lawyer from saying in a tweet they wish someone were dead or had never been born. I would rather people could say that if they wished and that those saying it to them were free to say it too. I prefer freedom of speech. I have been called all sorts my other lawyers - a typical one thrown at women is we are mad or [ add private part of your choice] but I don't want people banned for that. When people (usually men) make those kinds of comments it helps us know who we are up against and allowing them to dare I say "dig their own grave" through their abusive tweets is better than reprimanding them. It allows us to see them in their true colours.

A full review of what solicitors are allowed to tweet on line or not should be now undertaken with much much clearer rules.
