I remember the days when the Civil Liability Bill was touted as reducing fraud and fraud alone. Interesting to note the MOJ confirms that it will "will ensure spurious or exaggerated whiplash claims are no longer an easy payday". Why has this change in focus been permitted and not challenged??!

I also remember the days when the "savings" being touted were hundreds of pounds. And then they slowly were reduced to the £35 indicated before this Bill went before Parliament. Now I see nothing has been offered at all in legislation.

And I note that, year on year, premiums have steadily risen across the industry to the current level where the "savings" will be still mean that, in real terms, premiums have not "fallen" and that the consumer is still paying more for compulsory RTA insurance than we were in 2013.

The insurance industry is in bed with this Tory government, and the latter have played to the ABI's tune. Why else would they prioritise this piece of legislation instead of focusing on more important matters such as Brexit that will impact upon us all?

Good luck to all those affected by these changes - on both sides of the fence - and commiserations to all citizens whose rights have, once again, been slashed by this government.
