Absolutely ludicrous. McKenzie friends should just be there to offer emotional support in difficult circumstances. They should not offer legal advice let alone argue a case- i already know of one who spent time in prison for contempt of court and brought disaster upon a custody battle. Unqualified people in court do more harm than good- how many would be able to quote the law on the spot and identify human rights violations, contempt, etc. to see that justice is done? There are too many loopholes in family law - a McKenzie friend could not possibly possess the knowledge required to never miss a trick in the family court-it is one thing knowing the law but applying it is a totally different kettle of fish.
