This is the first time I have read about anyone having to pay for a McKenzie Friend.

As per the Practice Guidelines, there is no right of audience, and the case can't be managed outside of the court (for example by signing legal documents). So what purpose exactly is being served by Mr Kedge? It seems an extortionate amount to pay to have someone sit with you and take notes.

I really hope this does not go ahead for the sake of the public.

Mr Kedge needs to go off and gain his relevant qualifications and give his head a wobble. I am sure he can get through the SQE.
