How sad that junior solicitors don't feel able to consult colleagues. Something is seriously wrong with the firms who foster that sort of culture or the junior who can't admit they aren't all-knowing.

As for the Law Society, has anyone ever managed to get them to give actual advice on what to do in a situation? All I've ever got is a reference to the conduct rules for me to make up my own mind what to do. "If I knew that, I wouldn't have rung you" only falls on deaf ears.

Firms need to nurture staff and help them learn. If you don't know what they don't know, you will pay for it one day when the claims mount up on your PI insurance and you end up with no decent lawyers. You reap what you sow.
