In which case are they not aiding and abetting a fugitive? Taking instructions, and, perhaps, money, to run an appeal? And how can they prove he needs legal aid? What financial information have they provided? Given that he's on the lam he must have some money from somewhere backing him up.

And why should someone who has voluntarily absented themselves from the court system be permitted to use it? By all means delay any appeal until he turns up, but, until he turns up, he should not be entitled to pursue one.
