Anon 08/01 at 15:42, that’s a sad view of a trainee. Today’s Partners and big fee generators were once trainees. Surely, a trainee is a long term investment, not an immediate profit centre; at least that’s how I have always viewed them. Some move on and some stay, but that’s life. The key to all of this is trainee retention, which means treating them well from the start, not just in terms of salary, but in other areas as well.
