You're making some assumptions there 12.59, which I would challenge the validity of.

The BSB's finding was that the sending was inadvertent, which militates heavily against any idea that the recipient was 'willing'. If the recipient was willing, one would have to question how this came to light in the first place.

You are right to an extent though. The camaraderie of the Bar is such that things like this do sometimes get dealt with by the old boy's network. I have seen this first hand with cocaine, and voyeurism. In both bases, the barristers concerned had a cosy little chat with the lead of chambers, and that was the end of that.
