@ 10:33 - Not all the comment is undignified but some is pretty juvenile.

Given (a) recently voiced concerns about the new SRA process for qualifying as a solicitor; (b) the areas of practice now open to CILEX members; and (c) the current pilot of flexible deployment of judges, is it time for a more overarching review of the entire legal profession in this country, including advocacy and access to tribunal and judicial posts? Yes this might include the thorny question of a "fused" profession, maybe with an initial designation of "General advocate" (a lawyer who does not specialize in litigation) or "Court advocate" (a lawyer having the right to appear before the courts, maybe this category divided into different levels of authority depending on the type of court they can appear before)?
