Only, anon@16:05, because the government altered the rules. Historically it wasn't the case and nothing fundamentally changed to necessitate that alteration of the rules. The government could quite easily change the rules to allow doctors and nurses to do the same work. But we don't see either the public or nurses agitating for this. Is there public pressure for legal executives to be given parity with solicitors? If so, I haven't witnessed it. Or are the only one who want the change the legal executives themselves?
