If Legal Execs charge as much as solicitors, then from the public's point of view, why use them ? If you're saying, Patricia that your firm's branding as a "progressive law practice" is a point of differentiation, then for most clients, that isn't going to cut it. Most solicitors firms (and barristers chambers) are "progressive". If Legal Execs don't offer a better deal on costs, I don't see why anyone would seek them out rather than a solicitor or barrister. In fact, quite the contrary. And if they're really so good as they say they are, then why not just have one standard qualification for the entire profession (solicitor-barrister) instead of the existing dog's breakfast ?
