You’re correct. I was saying just the other week that it’s common practice for govt to slash budgets (not just in law/MoJ) by millions or billions for a few years, then govt stump up about 10% of what has been “saved” and claim they’ve increased funding so we can all swoon over how generous and wonderful they are.

It’s an obvious, old ploy, but it convinces the masses. And normally, but by the time govt do release some money, people/services are so desperate they’ll be grateful.
