Instead of dumb down legal terminology why not have some of the basics (and I do mean basics) taught in secondary school education?

By no means do I mean everyone should be able to leave school with a GCSE in law, but if there’s time for the Bible, drama and art then surely there can be some allowance for the law of the country where someone is going through compulsory education?

If school is meant to help prepare children for adult & working life, some introduction to law, finance, accountancy doesn’t seem unreasonable (not necessarily those specific subjects, they just came to mind). I left school know more about isobars and isotherms than I did about the laws of the land… which was nothing really. I don’t even think I knew there was a high court or supreme court.
