I’m sorry Minister but you appear to have spent too long in the MoJ Propaganda Department. Simply parroting public sector claptrap about ‘modernisation’ and ‘transformation’ isn’t good enough. The entire system has been starved of funding, firstly as a result of Ken Clarke’s LASPO demolition job and then Grayling’s scorched earth policy drive.

Your ‘modernisation’ will be nothing of the sort. It’ll be a cheapo, cut and shut, make do and mend job because that’s how it’s always been. Our legal aid and justice systems used to be the envy of the World. Sadly, they have become a national embarrassment. As have our politicians.
