Well yes, but the obvious explanation is massive positive discrimination in hiring minorities as trainees. This comes not just from pressure from the regulators but also from a pervasive sense of white guilt. I have seen close up how keen City firms are to hire an ethnically diverse intake.

Meanwhile Jewish lawyers out-perform at every level, but hey, nobody ever discriminated against them.

Sorry but positive discrimination only gets you so far.
