@ 15.29 you're missing the point. Arguing for inequality is racist and/or sexist.

Receiving preferential selection to meet a diversity quota (affirmative action) may mean we end up with the wrong people in all manner of jobs, including the important ones.

Take the Harvard case in which it is alleged that the entry scores for Asians were increased because they outperformed other groups in test scores, and were securing disproportionately higher numbers of places. This led to fewer Asians being offered places. If you can't offer places to the best and the brightest at top universities there will be consequences for human evolution.

If you can't employ the best manager for the job because of diversity quotas, then the business is likely to suffer. If we don't employ the best actors in films, people will not watch them, and money will be lost (not gained).

I'd much prefer to be operated on by the best Asian surgeon than a less adequate white or black surgeon, and vice versa. I don't want a poorer surgeon, do you?
