Professor Yaffle it's simple. As morality has been abolished dishonesty is now no more than a "mistake"! I remember hearing in the early 1970s about a young articled clerk (as they were then called) in London using the circular bit from the end of a ring pull can in a parking meter resulting in him being barred for life. I also recall that the kinks in the rings appeared after that. I never was sure whether it was true or put about as a frightener!
