I've come to the reluctant conclusion that both the SRA and the SDT are institutionalised bullies. They pick on the vulnerable, choosing as their targets those that are unlikely to be able to afford teams of heavyweight lawyers to defend them, and leave untouched the thousands of solicitors, particularly those involved in the cesspool of personal injury work, who are flouting the rules quite openly and displaying dishonesty on a daily basis.

Likewise, those solicitors in the large London private client firms who are actively assisting international criminals to launder money through offshore property transactions are left untouched, as the SRA know that they will fight back with a vengeance.

In this particular case a woman who should have received credit for taking what must have been a horrendously difficult decision has been destroyed by the very people who should have offered her protection.

I'm very glad to have left the profession.
