Try and make an RTA worth doing at £500 a pop. Maybe the absolute most simple cases are worth it but all you need is 1 slightly more complex case and WIP can go to £2k.

I agree absolutely that some firms are very dodgy at what they do but for the rest of us we either charge a success fee or just don’t bother with it. Client’s choice.

I still think nail down the RTA max success fee to 10% and max chargeable ATE at £100. Then go further and on admitted cases insurers have to provide rehab and if not accepted any charges are only recoverable at £20/session on receipt of physio records - lack of mitigation and all that.

At the same time get rid of advertising and CMCs.

But who cares. - it’ll all be academic next year.

About the review....

The figures are bonkers. and how have HMG calculated them?

Maybe the decline in claims has resulted in reduced costs.

If claims and costs are down, why the Civil Liability Act?

What are the unintended consequences for defendants? QOCS is pretty easy to understand even for ministers.

And as above, by next year there will be another x% fewer costs as the RTA market collapses so what does it all matter.
