If it’s really been going on since 2013 it doesn't seem like anything's going to be done about the whole ATE scandal.

It's amazing what the SRA chose to prosecute and what they chose to let slide.

On the one hand we have what appears to be a wholesale, industry wide ‘questionable practise’ of undisclosed commissions with more than a whiff of dishonesty about it.

On the other hand, they push for the strike off of a trainee who blows the whistle on her dodgy managers.

A less cynical person might suggest that going after the former is less attractive because they have deep pockets and lots of money to throw at a defence. The latter…. well, doesn’t.

A much easier strike off for the stats.

I really hope the SRA surprise us all with some real action on the ATE mis-selling scandal. That would go a long way to restoring their reputation in the eyes of the rest of the profession.
