I was seized by a revolutionary spirit when I read this on the BBC. I was ready to arm myself with a pitchfork and a burning torch and march on the gated capital with its glass boxes in its congested skies, there to give Johnny Privilege a Bolshevik dose of first-against-the-wall.

However, on reading the judgment, I actually felt rather sorry for the claimants, and the predicament in which they found themselves. One of them even complained of having to be properly dressed at all times, which sounds positively ghastly to me. If a man can't pirouette in his winter garden wearing nothing but a pair of Marigolds and a winning smile without be assailed by the stares of gallery visitors, then truly we have lost something infinitely precious. I therefore consider this judgment to be emblematic of Mann's inhumanity to man.
