The SRA's idea to replace regulatory protection and indemnity cover by 'informing' the client that it is not there, is a truly bizarre and a retrograde step.

This 2 or 3-tier of quality is only going to serve to confuse.

If a trainee whistleblowing junior lawyer is held to the exacting standards of our profession, why not those who choose to set up different means of practice, doubtless to the very rich individual or corporate client.

Shoddy regulation I feel.
