If the students don't get paid but the university charges for the legal services provided by them, that's pure exploitation of labour. If the charges to the client are reduced to reflect the almost absent labour costs, that is unfair market competition. The NUS should be agitating for the students to be paid the minimum wage at least. The Law Society should be agitating for a level playing field in terms of charging.
