At the risk of showing myself to be totally unenlightened, how can a "reflective discussion" about the feedback of lay clients shed light on a lawyer's "technical quality"?

Perhaps the clients in Mr Buckley's previous field of international private arbitration might be sufficiently informed for this to prove a useful exercise, but in the vast majority of firms this would quickly become just another box-ticking exercise, as it has in pharmacy, for example.
