I acted on a couple of plot purchases and queried the short term and ground rent. The site dragon woman called the office and ranted via reception 'I need a solicitor I can work with' (also demanding to interupt my client meeting I was in).

After I called her and told her not to behave like that and pointed out that I wasn't her solicitor or the builder's solicitor she went off in a huff and sure enough I never got another job on the site. God knows what they said about me to anyone who went along wanting to use me.

I do think all the pet firms who turned a blind eye deserve everything they may be about to get.

ps. Ban referral fees. We are writing articles for the local press about the shameful practice. I encourage everyone who hasn't yet sold out and doesnt have the embarrassment of being in the agent's pocket to do the same.
