I write as Chair of my RA and as a political economist interested in this "marketplace". CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) is our friend.

A resident highlights
"The point I am making is that the Local Planning Authorities must stop the undemocratic process of Retrospective Planning as that applies across the whole industry and is costing homebuyers an absolute fortune in not only direct costs but the devaluation of the sales values of their properties. Combine this with the more blatant example of "Bribery" where they incentivise home buyers to purchase shoddy properties with trivial gimmicks like gift vouchers to stop them complaining about all the defects after they move in! Everyone needs to be alert to this wider aspect of the corruption going on nationwide."

It's the totality of the sales package that needs to be thoroughly investigated (as well as the relationship with LAs in offloading Public Open Spaces to management companies). I welcome the government's referral to CMA.
