This case is being watched with particular interest from outside the UK, especially in relation to the accuracy of the 9 months time estimate - which makes the costs utterly ruinous. For large US corporations it may be a drop in the bucket but the last private litigants subjected to a ruinously long trial by a US multinational were penniless anarchists (the McLibel case in the 90s). Are the points of contention in this case really so impenetrable as to justify spending 9 months ?
