"Like a lot of comments on articles about race - lots of white people defending to maintain the status quo which has benefitted them well, while BAME people reading it and silently thinking, 'They just don't get it and they never will.'"

What a useless comment.

Firstly, I note that you are simply assuming the skin colours of people who have commented on this story.

Secondly, I note that people of your ilk are quick to say that those who disagree with you "don't get it" but very very slow to present an argument actually explaining why they are wrong.
