It's not even just about the money. Legal Aid housing work has become so horrible with its excessive bureaucracy, daft rules and low payment rates that it is almost impossible to find a qualified housing supervisor even when the contracts are on offer.

Surrey is a complete desert for legal aid housing advice. The Law Centre in Kingston has been advertising for nearly a year to find a supervisor (who can cope with the billing) so that it can extend its reach in to the County but no one suitable has applied. .

Who can blame them really but it is sad for Surrey where, believe it or not, there are quite a large number of poor and vulnerable people. I know. I see them at the Epsom food bank.
