I have been qualified for nearly 40 years now: the very thought of a multiple choice computer exam fills me with disgust. It hardly tests your actual abilities other than your memory and ability to read the question! And it is deeply disturbing that after 40 years the profession still wishes to exploit the youngsters wishing to become lawyers in this way just as they did when I wanted articles. But at least in those days you could get articles. Getting the necessary training contract these days without spending some considerable time as a scivvy seems very difficult unless you are a white male with the necessary contacts, or someone with a good degree from Oxbridge.
