Obiter is a huge fan of all the latest hot DJs on the hit parade: Tony Blackburn, DLT, Mike Reid (wasn’t he Frank Butcher? - Ed).

So we’re obviously saddened to hear that Radio 1 stalwart Judge Jules is to swap the mixing for billing as he turns to a career in the law.

Jules O’Riordan, for that is his real name, has a training contract with media law firm Sheridans to start in September 2013. The firm tells us he will gain experience in a number of areas of media law, including music, during his two-year contract. Just remember, Sheridans, if he’s roped into DJing at the Christmas party next year, Obiter would like a ticket.
