Magic circle firm Linklaters has announced the election of Charles Jacobs, a 26-year veteran of the firm, as senior partner.
Jacobs (pictured), admitted in 1992, will take over from current senior partner Robert Elliott on 1 October and serve for five years.
According to a statement, Jacobs joined Linklaters 26 years ago and has been with the firm throughout his career. He has worked on some of the largest M&A deals in the market, most recently for SAB Miller on its proposed acquisition by AB InBev and Glencore on its acquisition of Xstrata.
Elliott said: 'Charlie’s standing with clients and motivational and energetic leadership style mean he has all the attributes to lead our firm.’
