Advertisements have appeared for the post of chief executive of the Law Society to replace Desmond Hudson, who announced his retirement in March.

According to the advertisement, the new chief executive ’will lead the organisation and support its members through an ongoing and challenging period of change in the legal services sector’.

The successful candidate will ‘ideally be a qualified solicitor’ and demonstrate a track record of achievement at chief executive or equivalent level in a comparable organisation.

'You will bring outstanding credentials in having delivered cultural change and performance improvement in either the public or private sectors, together with the ability to set and lead a demanding strategic course and ensure that you take others with you.’

The salary range is £230,000-£250,000.

The closing date for applications is Friday 20 June and final interviews will take place in the week beginning 28 July.
