Top-50 law firm Parabis Law LLP has appointed as partners three highly-experienced insurance and commercial law specialists from Mills & Reeve.

Victoria Jordan, Paul Cha and Philip Lawrence are joining Parabis Law’s property risks and coverage team in London focusing on large-loss insurance claims, underscoring the team’s reputation for high-value, complex insurance work. They will be part of a 60-strong national team, which now comprises 13 partners.

These are the first major hires since last year’s merger between Plexus Law, part of the Parabis Group, and full-service defendant insurance law firm Greenwoods Solicitors.

The three new partners will expand the firm’s capability at the top end of insurance, where there is a demand for experienced specialist advice.

They are each well-known and highly regarded in the insurance market for their expert knowledge in discrete areas of specialisation, as well as for their breadth of experience of large-loss cases and related coverage issues.

Victoria Jordan specialises in material damage claims and coverage; Paul Cha’s specialist areas are reinsurance, direct coverage work, related brokers claims and product liability, while Philip Lawrence is experienced in coverage work, the defence of construction professionals and contractors as well as technology and media-related claims.

All three will be part of a team which counts five of the UK’s major insurers and key intermediaries among its key clients.

Richard Houseago, who heads-up property risks and coverage, said: ‘We continue to broaden and deepen our capability at the higher end of insurance, where there is a demand of experienced specialist advice. We’re delighted to welcome Victoria, Paul and Philip to Parabis.’
