Private client lawyer Simon Glazebrook has been promoted to partner by Yorkshire law firm Gordons.

Mr Glazebrook specialises in complex inheritance tax and succession planning, trust advice, and administration and planning issues concerning pensions and life policies.

He is experienced in advising business owners and entrepreneurs on mechanisms that allow companies to be passed on in the most appropriate and tax efficient manner.

Mr Glazebrook often provides advice to some of the region’s wealthiest individuals and trustees of large private settlements, and has experience in dealing with offshore trust aspects, as part of larger tax-planning exercises.

A University of Leeds law graduate, Mr Glazebrook joined Gordons in September 2007 and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Paul Ayre, managing partner, Gordons, said: ‘Simon has a fast-growing reputation in private client law and already deals with, and has the trust of, some of the firm’s highest-profile clients.

‘He cultivates outstanding professional relationships and grasps clients’ personal or business needs. We think he’ll make a big contribution to Gordons in the future, as we progress towards becoming the region’s leading law firm.’

Gordons’ private client team provides personal advice for individuals and trustees. It has a wealth of experience and acts for a broad range of clients, with a strong focus in advising high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners about issues such as their wills and tax affairs.

Gordons is one of the UK’s most successful practices. It has offices in Leeds, Bradford and London, employs 265 people and has a turnover of more than £25.3m.
