A website allowing customers to rate their financial adviser has expanded its service to include reviews of solicitors who agree to be rated.

VouchedFor.co.uk said it has already signed up 250 individual solicitors happy for their clients to rate them online since trials of the extended service began last week.

The website was set up as a referral tool for people looking to find financial advisers and mortgage advisers. Each pays a quarterly subscription of £40 plus a fee for clients introduced through the site.

Vouchedfor said it has received 10,000 client reviews of 2,500 financial professionals and now hopes to have a similar impact on the legal profession.

Adam Price, founder, said the service will be aimed at solicitors from small practices. ‘When looking for advice consumers often do not know who to trust,’ he said. ‘VouchedFor can now help bridge that trust gap for solicitors.’ Before setting up the site in 2011, Price led Barclays’ international direct business.

The solicitor section of the website is currently in a trial stage, with a full launch expected in the autumn.
