The Foundation exists to make nutrition science readily-accessible to all and is widely-recognised as a leader in the delivery of independent, evidence-based nutrition information that promotes nutritional health and wellbeing. Through active engagement with government, schools, food companies, health professionals and journalists, we aim to provide advice to help shape and support policy and so facilitate improvement in the diet and physical activity patterns of the population.
BNF's work is communicated through a blend of nutrition science, education and media activities.
• Food - a fact of life: BNF delivers an education programme supporting better food and nutrition education in schools. The website www.foodafactoflife.org.uk includes a wide range of resources, including posters, worksheets and eSeminars. Education-themed events are also run during the year and more details are available on the website.
• Nutrition Science: our nutrition scientists communicate with health professionals and journalists to provide information on nutrition and healthy lifestyles. The newsletter BNF News is available to any interested parties free-of-charge and a number of sections on our website www.nutrition.org.uk have been targeted specifically at the public. Please note that our remit does not include the provision of individual nutrition consultations or advice.
If you would like to support our charity's work, any donation you are able to make, however small or large, will be gratefully received and put to good use. To find out more about making a donation or about any of our activities, please visit our websites.
